On January 30th next, Inter Kenmare FC brings the thrilling live gameshow, “Who wants to be a Thousandaire” to the Kenmare Bay Hotel in Kenmare. This show has attracted large audiences all over

The launch night for the show was held in the Coachmans Kenmare on December 22nd and a large attendance included Brian Gallivan and Donald Lynch representing Kenmare Plant Hire who are the main sponsors of the show, as well as Siobhan Jones from the Coachmans who are also Title Sponsor. Kenmare Plant Hire have long been associated with Inter, and in the past completed the construction of the club’s current playing pitches, which are among the very best in Kerry. Inter are delighted to continue their association with a local company who take interest in local events and organisations. The Coachmans have also long been associated with the club, and currently sponsor the senior teams.
The first ticket for the event was purchased by local election candidate Patrick Connor Scarteen.
We spoke to Club Secretary Charlie Vaughan about the show at the launch night who advised as follows:
“We have been in contact with several others groups who ran, “Who wants to be a Thousandaire” shows around the country with great success. We are all looking forward to a great night on Jan 30th as the show is really hi-tech and offers a superb night’s entertainment. The show is timed to start at

Inter Kenmare F.C. has announced commencement for the development of their new club dressing room development at Inter Kenmare Park, Dromnevane, Kenmare. Inter is a club which, from humble beginnings in 1985, has grown to be one of the largest clubs in Kerry, currently with 16 teams, covering all ages from under 11 to over 35s for both girls and boys as well as adults. One of the main fundraising events for this will be the Who Wants to be a Thousandaire Show in the
Inter are delighted to continue their association with a local company who take interest in local events and organisations.
Company Directors Brian Gallivan and Donald Lynch attended the event launch, and are photographed on the previous page.
Padraig and Siobhan Jones from The Coachmans have also long been associated with the club, and currently sponsor the senior teams. Inter are delighted to announce that the best sponsors in Kerry soccer are also rowing in behind the club for the biggest event Inter have ever run.
We spoke to Donald Lynch, Director of Kenmare Plant Hire on the night of the launch. "As you know, we have been involved with Inter Kenmare's grounds in Dromnevane from the very start, and are delighted to be involved in the second phase of development. We will ensure that this project is finished successfully, on time, and to the very highest standards." Kenmare Plant Hire are also known for their seven a side team "The Scoop Squad" which took part in many of the competitions over the past number of years.
Donald is contesting the local elections in 2008, and the club wish him every success.
Patrick Connor Scarteen, and his father Councillor Michael Connor Scarteen have long been supporters of Inter Kenmare. For the past ten years the "Scarteens" 7-a-side team has been one of the first entrants in Inter's annual seven-a-side competition, and in 2008, very nearly one the competition. Patrick was on hand to lend his support to the launch of the event, and as always, offered to do anything he can to help the club with their upcoming developments. Patrick is contesting the local elections in 2008, and the club wish him every success. Patrick's family business are also advertising on the night, so look out for the Scarteens ad.
Michael Healy-Rae was unable to make the launch night, but did send a nice message to the club for the night. "I wish the club all the best with the upcoming event. I will be there on the 30th to lend my support. I have always been a firm supporter of the club, and will do all that I am asked to help out." All the committee members of the club can attest to this, and look forward to seeing Michael on the night. Michael is contesting the local elections in 2008, and the club wish him every success. Also, look out for the Healy-Rae advert on the night.
Senator Mark Daly also sent a message of support to the club on the launch night. "I have a keen interest in Inter Kenmare, and in fact have played for 10 years in the annual seven-a-side competition in Kenmare, winning two reserve cup and one premier cup medals." Inter committee members can attest to this, and recall Mark playing on with great heart even in the face of some bad injuries through the years. "I will be there on the night, and look forward to seeing you all there" said Senator Daly. Daly auctioneers will also be advertising on the night of the show.
