Internazionale Kenmare was founded in 1985 and was originally known as the ‘Templenoe Tigers’. The team had a truly international feel to it, supporting players from Holland, England, Germany and of course Ireland. In 1989 the club changed its name to Internazionale in honour of its multi cultural origins.
Recognising the need for further expansion and development and desirous of a place to put down permanent roots, it was obvious the club needed to purchase and develop a ground of its own. The club’s committee put together a development plan to gather funds for this project.
Two full size pitches were developed on the site, floodlights suitable for training were installed and we are now in the process of applying for funding to build changing facilities, showers and match standard floodlighting.
We now have the funding and planning permission in place for the development of dressing rooms. We hope to have these ready for the start of the 2008/2009 season
